Alexandra McNair heads the legal team at the Financial Markets Authority (Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko), one of the kaitiaki of Aotearoa’s financial markets. Originally from Hastings, she studied law and history at the University of Otago and has worked in private practice and in‑house in the financial services sector, including seven years in London. Alex joined the FMA in 2015 after returning home to Aotearoa and is motivated by the organisation’s evolving mandate, strong sense of public purpose, talented people and collaborative culture. Outside work, she enjoys exploring everything Tāmaki Makaurau has to offer with her partner and young daughters 

Sarah Davidson is a manager in the legal team at FMA, and works closely with FMA’s Fintech and Innovation team to support FMA’s strategic objectives of promoting innovation and a more dynamic financial services landscape in Aotearoa.  Hailing from Ōtepoti Dunedin, she has extensive experience in financial services law, having worked in private practice in NZ and London for a number of years and completing her Masters in Law at the University of Toronto, before coming home to Aotearoa and joining the FMA in 2017. Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time in the great outdoors with her two preschoolers and partner.
